"Bodywork" and "Touch" are words that for men have been swept under the rug, or more precisely have been condemned in this society.
Women have enjoyed bodywork as a form of relaxing for years. Yet many of all genders struggle with letting themselves enjoy often.
In my 16 years of working with clients, I have concluded there is a single major element either totally missing, or minimally existing in the lives of virtually everyone, and that element is human touch. A titanic touch deprivation crisis exists in our society. Touch is vital to human survival in a happy state. I have found that men and women are searching for a safe, quiet, relaxing, a discrete place to explore their need for touch. The opportunity to work with a non-judgmental, open minded and knowledgeable provider who understands what being stressed in today's world means. As the world continues to evolve, a safe place to relax is a service that is needed for all. As a nudist for over 50 years, the benefits of nudity cannot be overlooked. I offer a safe space to be who you truly are no matter the covering. Body acceptance issues are not only for females. Many men struggle to accept who they are in the mirror. Learning to let go of the perfect image and seeing the beauty within the mirror is the first step. When you are with me, on my table, you are not just another client, but a warm tender and loving human being who wants nothing more in life than to feel good, loved, wanted and pampered. I might start very slowly but you may soon learn that my touch brings something into your body that perhaps you have never felt before.
(1) Inspire positive thinking and expand trust
Known as the "feel good" hormone, oxytocin helps inspire positive thinking and maintaining an optimistic outlook on the world.
(2) Reduce social anxiety and stress
Physical touch increases levels of dopamine and serotonin, two neurotransmitters that help regulate your mood as well as help your body relieve stress and anxiety. Dopamine is also known to regulate the pleasure center in your brain that is a good counter to feelings of anxiety.
(3) Boost immune system and lower blood pressure
Many people struggle with body image issues, as we age and go through life phases. Most of us are all too familiar with the “tricks” that help us avoid seeing our full naked selves. There’s the full-on avoidance of mirrors (don’t look!), the refusal to install full-length mirrors (chest up only, please!), and the quick “towel wrap” after showers (quick, cover up!). I’ve done them all myself, so I totally get it.
But forcing yourself to spend more time naked forces you to confront the fact that your body is yours. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. No matter where you stand in your health journey, our bodies are amazing. They carry us through life and they deserve to be respected and treated well, not avoided at all costs.
Get comfortable with actually looking at your body and you may just get comfortable with what you need to do to learn to love your body more, too. Wearing only your smile may end up putting a bigger grin on your face than you might expect. Various studies have shown how being nude can be good for your physical and mental health. Even more studies have shown that certain items of clothing can have negative health effects.
